Cimarron is a prime contractor to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) via our GSA Schedule and our employees have become an integral part of the operations at the National Finance Center located at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans. Cimarron supports American Management System’s (AMS) Foundation Financial System (FFIS) product to include new releases. This product is the accounting package the USDA uses to process transactions. There are many agencies supported and some of them include, the Forest Service, Office of Chief Financial Officer, Risk Management Agency, Farm Service Agency, Food Safety Inspection Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Rural Development, and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Cimarron’s duties focus on Quality Assurance, Production Scheduling and Monitoring, System Validation Testing, System Documentation and Status Reporting.
- Quality Assurance
- Review annual, monthly, weekly, nightly, and payroll processing cycles for several of USDA’s agencies
- Verify Parameter Settings for each of these cycles
- Production Scheduling and Monitoring
- Work closely with Functional Administrators for each of the agencies in developing their production cycles
- Schedule deviations to these cycles, along with any requested jobs
- Monitor their successful execution
- Provide 24-hour On-call support for any issues that may arise in the execution of these cycles
- System Validation Testing
- Work with both the Development and Technical Teams in testing new and modified jobs before their release
- Once validated, we are responsible for having these moved into production
- Systems Documentation
- Assist in developing the Function Administrator’s Handbook
- Compile the Run Books for each of the cycles
- Develop the Operations Technical Guide
- Assist with Technical Readiness Review and Requirement Analysis documentation
- Reporting
- Generate Morning Status Reports outlining the previous night’s production
- Generate Weekly System Availability Statistics
- Participate in morning conference calls with each of the agencies to review and plan processing
