The Constellation program represents NASA's vision for the future of space exploration that will return our astronauts to the Moon, Mars and beyond. The program combines technology and principals used in the Apollo and Gemini programs and infuses the most technologically advanced capabilities available today.
The program will develop two new boosters. The Ares I, derived from the Shuttle Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs), will be used to launch crews in the Orion capsule. The Ares V will provide a heavy lift capability of up to 286,000 lbs and stand 360 feet tall. Constellation will be the future of America’s manned-space program and launch us into the next generation of access and usability of space and other planets. More information can be found on NASA's Ares page.
The Orion Crew Entry
Vehicle (CEV) will carry our astronauts in a similar, but much larger Apollo program like capsule. The capsule will carry six astronauts to low Earth orbit, four astronuats to moon orbit and, someday, even to Mars orbit. More information can be found on NASA's Orion page.
Cimarron is proud to be engaged in this remarkable endeavor with several of the top names in the aerospace industry.
