The Commercial Orbital Transportation System (COTS) competition is a partially NASA funded effort to bring commercial space service to reality. As the Space Shuttle program ends,
a need has developed for commercial re-supply for the ISS. Trips to the ISS will once again, most likely rely on commercial re-supply.
This is an exciting endeavor because it marks the first time NASA has invested money into the private sector for competitive commercial space transportation services. This effort will begin a new era in accessibility to space, not only for NASA, but for anyone who just might need to put something in orbit. This technology will be used as a catalyst towards commercial ventures in space, which means one day you and I might be able to tour space and maybe even spend a night or two.
Cimarron is extremely proud to be providing ground control solutions in this historical, technological challenge.
