  • I am getting an error code 91+

    If you are using v3.1, v3.0 or v3.0.1-3.0.3 on a computer with Office XP, you need to get the latest Office service pack from Microsoft Office Downloads.

    If you are using v3.0 or v3.0.1, download and install the v3.0.2 patch from The Campus Planner Updates.

    This error code may also indicate a permission problem. The Campus Planner user must have write permission to the installation location of the program.

  • When I print my plan I get "There are no Indicators/Objectives that support this Strategy."+

    From the Main Menu:

    1. Click Strategies
    2. For v2.3 or earlier, Click Strategy Details
    3. Click Supporting Objectives
    4. Click the box next to each Indicator associated with the Strategy (this will add a check)
    5. Click OK
    6. Click Next (the one just to the left of Supporting Objectives)
    7. Repeat steps 3-6 to add the Indicator(s) to each Strategy

    When you have added this to EACH strategy in the Goal, click Next (at the top of the window) to go to the next Goal. Repeat steps 2-7 for each Strategy in each Goal.

    If you are using v3.1 and would like to hide this message, then follow these steps:
    From the Main Menu:

    1. Click Options
    2. Select the Report Preferences tab
    3. Uncheck the last box "Display a warning message..."
    4. Click OK

  • The graph does not show the results of different grade levels.+

    The Campus Planner program only graphs "all grades" data for all entered analysis groups.

  • Is there a way to place specific dates in the Timeline?+

    In The Campus Planner v3.0 or v3.1, select the second option for the Timeline Activities Selection Date Format on the AYP Options tab on the Options screen. In previous version the only way to enter specific dates in the timeline is to enter them in your activity description or in the evaluation area.

  • How can I reinstall Campus Planner to the network without loosing my original work?+

    To reinstall the program to the network without loosing data, you need to first backup your data using the Backup and Restore program. After backing up the data, install the program again directing it to the location on the network where you want the data to reside. Once the installation is complete, restore your data with the Backup and Restore program. Now when you open the program it will access the data from the network.

  • I logged in as administrator, installed the program and now when I log in as the user the program doesn't start.+

    This is a rare problem that happens on some Windows NT, 2000, and XP computers with Microsoft Access installed. If you see The Campus Planner startup screen open and then close, but the program does not start, try the following: Find the file "msaccess.exe" on your computer (this should be located under a subdirectory named "Microsoft Office"). Double-Click on that file; you will get an error message stating that the system.mdw file could not be found. Click OK. At this point, you can start The Campus Planner program normally without any problems, and shouldn't have any more problems starting it in the future.

  • Our power shut off while I was working on my Campus Plan, and now I get strange errors when I try to use The Campus Planner.+

    Problems with databases are rare, but the potential does exist, especially if the database is being used when the power is shut off. If for any reason you experience database problems, you should Compact and Repair the database. This is a very fast and simple process, and can be done at any time whether the database needs it or not. Simply select: Start » Programs » Cimarron Campus Planner 3.1 » Compact and Repair Data. If there are any problems with your data, they should be automatically repaired. Periodically selecting this option will also ensure that your database occupies as little disk space as possible.

  • My hard drive crashed and I've lost my Campus Plan! How can I get my data back?+

    As with any software application, you should periodically backup your data in case a serious problem happens with your computer or data file, and you lose what you've been working on. Periodically select the Backup option from Start » Programs » Cimarron Campus Planner » Backup and Restore (or step 15 from the Main Menu - only v3.0 or higher). You can save your data to a floppy disk or to a network drive; in most cases, all of your Campus Plan data will fit on a single floppy disk. If you ever need to restore the data, reinstall The Campus Planner (if it's missing or damaged), then select the Restore option from the same location and specify the location of the backed up file. Your data will be restored exactly as it existed during your last Backup.

  • I'm running under Windows NT, 2000, or XP, why can't I see my Printer Properties?+

    Under some Windows NT, 2000, and XP configurations the Printer Properties option might not work for certain printers (from the Output form), an incompatibility bug between Windows and Microsoft Access is the cause. However, you will still be able to print your reports to any installed printer.

  • I have Microsoft Access 2000 or 2002 installed. After installing The Campus Planner, then later running Access, I got a message that "Installation for Access 2000 or 2002 is completing..." Will this cause any problems?+

    This message only appears once in this situation: the first time you run Access 2000 or 2002 after The Campus Planner was installed. This is harmless, and the message will not be displayed again.

  • I have Microsoft Office 2000 or 2002 (or one of its components) installed and am getting errors when I try to install The Campus Planner.+

    This is a rare problem that happens on some computers with Office 2000 or 2002 installed. The installer will tell you it is complete but it completed very fast and there is no icon on the desktop. If you are having this problem, double-click on the file D:\Restore\Clear97.reg (on The Campus Planner CD) and try to install The Campus Planner again.

  • Why do I get an error when I try to preview a report?+

    A common issue that causes this problem is not having a printer installed on your computer. The Campus Planner program must know how the report will be formatted for a printer before it can display how the report will look. Install a printer on your computer and you will be able to preview all reports.

  • I uninstalled Microsoft Access, and now The Campus Planner program won't start.+

    If you had Microsoft Access installed when you installed The Campus Planner, then later uninstalled Access, The Campus Planner program might not start. Simply reinstall The Campus Planner. During installation, you will receive a message asking if you would like to keep your existing plan data - be sure to answer Yes to this question, or you will lose your existing data. The Campus Planner should work fine after this.

  • I installed a new version of Microsoft Access, and now The Campus Planner program won't start.+

    If you had Microsoft Access installed when you installed The Campus Planner, then later upgraded to a new version of Access, The Campus Planner program might not start. If you are running v2.3 or earlier then double-click on the file D:\Restore\Clear97.reg (on The Campus Planner CD) and install The Campus Planner again. If you are running v3.0 or later then uninstall and reinstall The Campus Planner. During installation, you will receive a message asking if you would like to keep your existing plan data - be sure to answer Yes to this question, or you will lose your existing data. Both The Campus Planner and Access should work fine afterwards.

  • How do I upgrade to a new version of The Campus Planner?+

    If you are upgrading The Campus Planner from a previous version, do not uninstall the old version first; simply insert the CD containing the new version and install. The program will automatically be updated and all your existing data will be available from the new version. If you have already uninstalled the old version, your data should still be safe; all Campus Planner files are deleted during the uninstall procedure except your main data file. To upgrade to a new version of The Campus Planner after you have uninstalled the old version, you must first reinstall the old version (answer Yes to the "keep your existing plan data" question), then install the new version.

  • I have Microsoft Access 95(v7.0) installed on my computer. After installing The Campus Planner, I cannot open any Access database files by double-clicking on them.+

    If you have this problem, you can still open database files directly from inside Access, but you can follow the steps below to remedy this problem.

    WARNING: If you are not familiar with the Windows registry, the following steps should only be performed by your local technology person. Before you modify the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs.

    1. Locate the file MSACCREG.DLL. MS Access 95 v7.0 installs this file onto your computer. The default location for this file is: C:\MSOffice\Access\MSACCREG.DLL.
    2. Run the following command: D:\Restore\regsvr32 "C:\MSOffice\Access\MSACCREG.DLL" Note: C:\MSOffice\Access\MSACCREG.DLL should be the location from: step 1.
    3. Double-click the file D:\Restore\CPlanner.reg.

    If you install MS Access 95 v7.0 AFTER you have installed The Campus Planner, you should Double-click the file D:\Restore\CPlanner.reg.

  • Can I format text (bold, italics, etc)?+

    You cannot format text in The Campus Planner reports; the program automatically handles all formatting.

  • How do I control where page breaks occur in my reports?+

    You can control page breaks in several different sections by opening the Options form, selecting the Report Preferences tab, and specifying where you want page breaks in reports. The default selections on this form are based on requests by the majority of Campus Planner users.

    In some cases, a small table in a report might span across 2 pages. If the majority of the table is on the first page with only a few lines of text on the second page, you can try deleting some text or white space from the beginning of the table to "pull" the entire table up onto a single page. If the table has only a few lines of text on the first page with the majority of the table on the second page, you can try entering some line feeds in a section just before the table to "push" the entire table down to the next page.

  • I was trying to preview or print the historical AEIS graphs and got an error message that "The OLE server is not registered."+

    When The Campus Planner was installed, either the installation failed, was aborted near the end of the process, or the CD was removed the very first time the program was run. The CD must be in the drive the first time that the program is run to successfully complete the installation process. To fix this problem, open the Graph folder on the installation CD and run setup.exe. This will install the Microsoft Graph 97 component needed to view and print graphs.

  • How can I move my data from one computer to another?+

    Make sure the same version of The Campus Planner is installed on both computers, and use the "Backup and Restore" function to move your data from one to another. For detailed instructions, read the "Backup and Restore" topic in The Campus Planner User's Guide.

  • When typing my mission statement, I ran out of space?+

    The mission statement field can only hold 350 typed characters. A page of text can be added after the title page with the Text after Title Page button on the Title Page/Intro form. A longer mission statement can be added if you type the entire mission statement out in Microsoft Word, or some other text editor, and then copy and paste it into the mission statement field. Extra pages are added for everything after 350 characters.
